Since we have 16 signed up, does that mean this swap is closed? Just curious as I need to go SHOPPING! How horrible! I hope I can stand it! LOL!

Oh, Traci, take a deep breath and give it a good try, you'll make it I promise!!!! LOL
Oh, Beth, when we use the vinegar, it should be 1/2 of what size? 1/2 of the washer? or 1/2 gallon? Or? Sorry, my friend, I just couldn't stop my fingers for typing that question.
But seriously, I've never done this, so do you add vinegar in the wash water or in the rinse water, or soak it? thanks for the help.
I know that QIAD had some really nice Christmas fabrics on sale. Haven't looked in a bit, try not to tempt myself too much, but that might be an option. BTW, the Christmas fabrics I got at Joann's weren't inexpensive. If I would have had the time, I would have gone elsewhere, like someplace on line that forum members have suggested for high quality a good prices. But I was last minute, of course. Hadn't been in Joann's for couple years at that point. Do very little of my shopping there.

Thanks for the vote of encouragement Kittyquilt! I'll have to start checking out websites, anyone have a way to calculate the mathmatically challenged (i.e. ME!) so I can get the right yardage?
As for vineager, I us it is my wash all the time! Especially for towels, helps w/ the smell!

I, too, keep passing this up and it keeps coming back around so I guess I will have to sign up, too. I think I will sign up myself and my granddaughter, Karli, as she is really showing interest in quilting. (We are working on CraftinDJ's mystery quilt and she is having a ball) Of course she will use my stash but she will be excited to receive the square in her own name. I have the pattern and it, likewise, keeps coming to the top of the pile so I guess I am destined to make it.

Traci...there is probably a mathematical formula for this but I don't know it so this is how I figure out the yardage. I know that the width of the fabric is about 42 inches, so you can get 4 ten inch squares from a 10 inch length of fabric. There are, at the moment, 16 people signed up so divide the 16 by the 4 pieces you can get from the width of the fabric and you have 4. Multiple the 4 times the 10 inches length you need for the 4 pieces and you get 40 inches. So for the red and the gold you would need at least 40 inches. For the green you need 80 inches. I don't like to buy just the exact amount in case I mess up something so I always get extra. Hope that helps.

Is it okay to use the same green for both our squares or do we need 2 different greens?
