Good Saturday Morning to all! Hope you're all doing well!

I have 7 blocks done, 6 more to do.

I'm working on SuZQ's Tossed 9 Patch block. I've made it as in the pattern by cutting my squares 5" square, sewn 9 patchs together then cut in half in center both directions, tossed 2 squares and sewn 4 blocks together. I end up with a block of 13 1/2".

Can someone help me please? Which size do I need to cut my 9 patches in order to obtain a 12 1/2" square? I'm going bald here by tearing my hairs LOL

Duece - you would have to start with 4 1/2 inch squares

Thank you We, but it won't work. 3 blocks of 4 1/2" sewn together = 12 1/2", cut in half you have 2 blocks of 6 1/4", sewn together = 12". I'm missing 1/2". The block size should be 12 1/2" unfinished. I think I'll take a brake and try again this afternoon. LOL today 1 + 1 = 3.

4 and 2/3 starting squares will give you a finished tossed patch of

12.48 is that close enough?

For the Tossed 9-Patch, I cut the initial blocks barely 4 7/8", sewed them together, then made the cut. I then squared each section to 6 1/2" which, when sewed together will make the 12 1/2".

You are absolutely right Duece. I was thinking of strictly a 12 1/2 inch 9 patch block
