Egg Money BOM - Block Twelve - Garden Walk Block - Final Block!

Post by Evie » Sun Aug 03, 2008 11:16 am

Read the chapter and if you have the DVD it would be good to watch. I didn't watch the DVD because I've made this block before.

I highly recommend getting getting the triangle in a square ruler:

http://www.quiltinaday.com/shoponline/r ... =702&page=

and there's a free video on the QIAD site showing how to use it:

http://www.quiltinaday.com/television/v ... square.asp

If you don't have the ruler, remember to square it up to 4 1/2".

I just found some paper piecing templates over at quilters cache:
http://www.quilterscache.com/B/BirdofPa ... Block.html

If you don't own the DVD, then watch the above video. Because the block is mainly triangle in a square blocks and four-patches.

I think a quilt made up of all Garden Walk blocks would be pretty for a bed quilt.

The triangle in a square blocks are all oversized so don't be surprised at how much you trim off.

Here's the Batik and 1930's:

Here's the Timbleberries: (There's two because I made an extra for my club block lotto drawing. The one on the right is the lotto block.)

Also, I just want everyone to see how cute this Panda Bear is. It's for the Saturday Sampler that the local quilt store hosts:

I still have not started piecing yet. Hope to be able to start up again sometime this week. I finished these up before my surgery. Just didn't get the pictures taken until today.

I've enjoyed hosting this swap and looking at everyone's blocks. When you get your quilt top done, please post some pictures over in the photo section.

(I decided not to do the Axe Head block because that would make 13 blocks. If you want to do the Axe Head, please post pictures of it and hints/suggestions would be more than appreciated.)

Hugs,
Evie

Wow Evie! These are wonderful! I do like the 30's block and I'm not a 30's person. They are all done so nicely, points are crisp and clean. Great job! ~Abbigail~

Great looking blocks. I sure dropped the ball on this one. I only got 4 blocks made. And it's all cut out, too. Oh, well, the twins quilts got in the way and then I kinda forgot about this BOM.

Here's my garden walk. I did the axe head earlier because I was following the DVD instead of the book (duh). Anyway, I still haven't found the 3rd double wedding ring block, so the axe head will fit in nicely.
