YOU ASKED FOR IT!! TEACUP CURIO BLOCK SWAP - check your PMs

Post by teacupdelights » Sat Jul 26, 2008 6:40 pm

Hear ye, hear ye!! This is the official posting for 12 block Teacup Curio swap.
Limited to twelve participants. Sign up QUICKLY so you don’t miss your chance. PM me if you need my mailing address.

http://www.fatcatpatterns.com/tea_party ... _party.htm

Fabric pre-washed, please.

1 - 12 participants
2 - Each participant chooses one block to make
3 - Each participant makes 12 of the selected block
4 - Fabrics for cup and saucer you select may vary if you like
5 - Center rounds of each saucer in pale tones please, for better contrast with the cups
6 - Background color light beige or cream tone-on-tone
7 - Sashing will be light to medium brown
(Make background larger than recommended to allow for shrinkage
due to applique techniques.

[• You will need to make 12 of the pieced background or base blocks for each of your teacups.
Some of us have problems with stretching the block out of square when we machine appliqué. There is no reason you cannot make your base block bigger than you need it to be, and square it up after your appliqué is on. BLOCK WILL MEASURE 10 1/2 INCHES UNFINISHED.
• Appliqué your teacups onto your blocks using your method of choice.]

8 - Square each completed block to TEN 1/2 INCHES, please
9 - Please be sure to include forum name/and first name with each block. You can stitch your label to edge of the block, use address labels, or small piece of scotch tape -NO staples or pins, please.
10 - You may put all 12 blocks in one big baggie if you like—uses less plastic and lightens the package, too.
11 –If you want blocks returned with certification, please include 2 stamps to cover my additional cost. Thanks.

Due to me by OCTOBER 3; my goal is to return to you by October 20.

12 - Please communicate if any questions or problems arise. We are all here for each other, which makes these swaps so much fun.

TO CLARIFY: APPLIQUE IS ANY TYPE YOU CHOOSE TO DO

What type of applique is this?

I'll sign up if its not the turned under kind. Those handles would be tricky!

If we can do raw edged applique, sign me up for number 4. I should be able to start back to quilting in time to finish these.

May I suggest you put peoples names by the number they signed up for that way it will be easier to see which ones are open. This will make a beautiful quilt.

Thank you for thinking of this swap.

Id do number 3,,,depending on the type of applique....I only do fusible where you turn it after...oe raw edge where you blanket stitch,,,,so let us know...
AND I just looked at the patterns and I dont have a clue how to decipher those!! Will need help there! Does the page number correspond with the block number??? I only want to print off number 3 block but how do you know which one it is??? Confusing directions to stupid me!! Oh, and the picture shows two browns, but we would just do one sashing, pieces A and C,is that correct?
