August 1 and 2

I wont be doing any quilting today and tomorrow... we are having a welcome home barbecue for my daughter and my sewing center ( the kitchen/dining room table) has been dismantled LOL... oh well, I guess she's worth it!!

Quilt Quilt ladies and most of all have fun doing it.
Bless you.

Oh Alina! That is so cute! I think it would be fine with just the top and bottom border of pinwheels. What color binding are you going to do? ~Abbigail~

Well, I lose out for Aug 1. DH decided that we needed to tear down the lean to on the barn. Spent about 6 hours on that and burning the old rotten wood. By then was too hot and tired to even try to sew. That being said and DONE, maybe I can get to things today.
Project 5 will be Friendship star blocks for Oct. Swap

woo, managed to sandwich in some sewing on projects today I got in 30 minutes on # 3 and spent 30 picking fabrics out for #5.
Thank God for the kitchen timer for cooking! And that DH stops his "help me, dear" projects to eat!

#1. Binding....I made the binding and got it sewn on for the first quilt. 35 minutes

#2. Crazy quilt...I scrounged around and found some muslin for the foundation. I ironed it and cut out ebough for 16 more blocks. 20 minutes

#3. Eights are enough/swaps...today I cut and sewed one block for a swap. 20 minutes

#4. Simply Strippy....I cut out more pieces and couldn't wait to see how they would go together so I sewed 2 together. Layed them besides each other and discovered that I had made one wrong! Did I say I read the directions? 35 minutes

#5 Tobacco Road (tabacker Road where I come from! LOL!)...I cut out more pieces. Started to get a little antsy on this one and wanted to sew a couple of blocks together but decided against it (see #4 above!) 30 minutes.

8/2 all 5 projects ~Abbigail~

8-2-08

Project #1-Pieced Dresden Plate--35 minutes--finished one block

Project #2-Bear Paw 35 minutes--I am machine quilting my three quilts in two halves and then sewing them together. It may be more work, but I don't have so much to handle when quilting. I sewed the backing by hand today, maybe I will finish this part tomorrow

Project #3-Granny's Flower Garden--2 hr. 45 minutes--machine quilted and sewed on the binding. I think it needs more quilting.

Project #4-Friendship Star- 30 minutes--cut out a few blocks.

Project #5-Egg Money Quilt--35 minutes--machine quilting
