August Awesome Action (UFO Buster Sew-a-long). The winners are...
Can you believe July is almost over. Time to think ahead to August. We have to thank Alina (Apolta) for our name this month. Thanks Alina!!!
Do you still have some UFOs/WIPs - come play with us and have fun while finishing up those projects.
To play, find FIVE projects (UFO/WIP) that require at least 6 more hours of work that you want to make progress on and register them by posting below.
How to play: You can get your name put in 'the hat' either getting 1, 2, or 3 points each day during the month of May. Read on to find out how. Each night I will roll the dice and announce the number rolled. If it is a "3", you are to work on your 3rd project the next day for at least 15 minutes and you MUST post after you have, telling the progress you made on the day you did the work. If the number "6" is rolled, it will be FREE CHOICE day. You still need to work for at least 15 minutes on one of your projects and post but you get to decide on which project. For each point you earn, your name goes into a hat. Names will be drawn throughout the month for prize winners. The members with the TOP three points at the end of the month will earn separate prizes.
Each day you may earn up to 5 points.
1 point = work 15 min. on the right project and post the details
2 points = work 30 min. on the right project and post the details
3 points = work 15 min. on three projects in one day and post the details.
4 points - work 15 min. on all 5 projects in one day and post the details.
5 points - for a finished project
At any point if you have finished a project, that slot is freed up and any time the dice landed on THAT number, you get to substitute another project that was on your list for that 'number'. Simply meaning, if you finish your 4th project and the number you are supposed to work on is the 4th one, you get to choose which project to spend your time on and you will still get credit.
The most important thing to note is your posting of your progress HAS TO be done on the day the work was done. In a nutshell, no posting today about what you did yesterday for credit. Check in to find out what number to work on each day and then Sew to WIN!
No project changes allowed after 6/30/08.
Are you ready to Play? Sew? Win?

Me? Have anymore UFO's???? Oh ya! LOL
Sign me up for August, please. I'll get back to you with my list.
Thanks DJ for keeping us moving forward. We're fortunate to have friends like these to get us over the bumps & traffic jams along the road of life, don't you think?

You can sign me up again too. I don't know what projects I'll have yet, but hopefully they won't be all the same ones from this month. LOL I never win, but it has helped me to keep focused on my UFOs.
Thanks for the idea and keeping us motivated.

But you can sit back and look at all that you have accomplished in 1 month. That's the best reward:o)

Ok DJ,
Sign me up.
With school starting soon, I won't have as much leisure time to sew & play - but maybe this will help motivate me to at least work for a few minutes each night.
Let's see, projects to list so far are
#1 Monsters/#2 Marissa/#3 Hand piecing/#4 flowered nine patch/#5 star.
I may change one before the start of the "action" if I hurry up and get my monsters done.

OK I will give this a shot, doubt I will get them all finished, due to canning season, yard work etc. but you are right - it is incentive!
1. finish hand quilting and bind "improved 9-patch lap quilt
2. Back and machine quilt "apples don't fall far from the tree"
3. finish 4 blocks and set top of "scrappy sampler"
4. Finish "Mystery quilt top" for Oct guild meeting, still have a bunch to cut out. OOPS!
