Re: Disaster Quilt top
Thanks for all the nice comments, everyone. I really enjoyed making this top. Just a bit of info: I selected 4 colors, green, purple, brown and orange, then went through my stash and pulled out 3 fabrics for each color. Then I picked one additional fabric that would go in each block, to tie all the blocks together. I chose the 20 blocks to make from various sources and randomly picked the fabrics for the blocks as I went along. Had no idea what I would use for sashing. Few weeks ago my friend gave me a bag of fabric she no longer needed and viola, there was the lavender fabric! DH chose the border for me, he has such a great sense of color combinations. And that's the story of the 20 block sampler. [far more than you wanted to know, but . . .]
Deanne, I will check tomorrow on the block's name and post it. All my sewing stuff is in my sewing room, which is in another building next to my house, so I can't "just slip into the next room to get it".
Love ya all, HUGS, carol/kittyquilt

Deanne, sorry it took me so long to get the name of the block you asked about, 3rd block in 3rd row: it is called Chinese Puzzle. I got it from Quilterscache. Here's the web address: www.quilterscache.com/C/ChinesePuzzleBlock.html.
It's a pretty easy one to make and could have lots of interesting layouts if you made an entire quilt.

Carol,
I am laughing at myself. When I saw your post and read "disaster quilt top" I thought you were posting a picture of a quilt top that did not turn out the way you intended. Oh duh, lol, that is how my mind works! Your quilt is wonderful and will be a huge blessing to someone.
Thanks for sharing it,
Linda
