DELECTABLE MOUNTAINS TUTORIAL ( this swap was from last year)

I've made one block and have a question--- leave it to me to complicate things! LOL

After sewing my block, when I measure it-- I get 8 x 12 1/2--- is this correct? I think it is, because after you cut your 8- 2 inch strips and sew them together, you lose 3 1/2 inches in seam allowances--- take 3 1/2 inches from the 16 inches you start with (8 x 2 inch strips) and you get 12 1/2.

Sorry to be confusing, but I just want to make sure I'm getting the correct size block before I make any more.

Okay--- good! Please sign me up for 4. I REALLY love this block! I have decided that for my next quilt, I want to use this pattern. It's SO quick and looks really, really pretty! I'm going to make a scrappy one using all floral prints and call it "Flowers on the Mountain"!

Thanks so much for choosing this block and posting the easy directions, Caroline! Every time I would look at the Delectible Mountains, I thought it would be difficult, so never really considered it. But, with your method of construction, it's super easy and fast to do!!! I love it!

I feel the same way you do Gwen, I probably would never have made this block. With Caroline's tutorial, I'm going to make a quilt with these also. I really like the floral idea and the name. Glad you decided to join us.

My blocks do have all 8 sections- I just noticed that the program I used to mosaic them cut the last sections off so that they look like they only have 6! LOL Had me worried for a minute, so I went to double-check! ;

Here are my four....Im going to make a bed quilt too, but Im waiting til I have enough blues because I want all blue and cream in mine. Ive been collecting blues for a couple of years and still have to save more,,,but a fat quarter will make 4 blocks,,,so Im saving for those. I love your blocks girls!!!!

Hi all, I thought I would tell you what I did...... I turned one of my blocks wrong so I ended up with two sides the same. This is a warning! Make sure you follow Caroline's directions to the letter, she knows of what she is talking. Now I get to go back and make another block and I'm not too sure how I turn this one to make it right???

You can sign me up for four......... I hope I don't make any more mistakes!
