This is the basis for quick charity quilts. We use 12 in blocks, 3 across and 4 down. The 6 plain blocks make the cross and the other six can be like a sampler or 6 of any design you want to do. It goes really quick if you use rail fence or log cabin for the other 6. I just did one with a 5 rail fence out of a jelly roll and it really went quick. I needed it quickly so I didn't do the embroidered Bible verses.
