My Dad's Quilt trying new things

My dad is 83 today, this is a picture of the quilt I gave him last year.

He has always loved the plains, buffalo and Native American things. He shows it off a lot.
I bought an embroidery machine after using a friends for one block, to do the buffalo motifs and found a public domain picture of "Buffalo Calf Woman" that I transfered to photo fabric for the center block.
I got to try some new techniques on this one and found some I really enjoyed and others I most likely won't use often.
The buffalo embroidery on the sweat shirt was part of the practice for the quilt and was a Christmas gift. LOL

I love your use of machine embroidery to make a quilt, this is something I have yet to try but I love the look. Your quilt is a good masculine design and you did a great job.

Happy Birthday to your dad. He looks like such a sweet man. Have fun with the embroidery.

Like your dad, I too like Native American things. I have the same prit fabric you used. I also bought a campanion print with buffalos on it and a plain fabric that matches the background. You have certainly used the print well. I love the embroidered buffalos. This is a beautiful quilt. It's no wonder your dad shows it off.
