Thanks for the compliments! I wanted to use the Northern Star quilt pattern for dad's quilt because of the stars, and I had the 76 Trombones fabric by Sandy Gervais for him, couldn't figure out how to combine the two because the panel of musical instruments was too small to go in the center of the two blocks. I ended up Fussycutting the panel for the centers and adding "coping strips" around each Fussycut to make it work. My dad plays a lot of different instruments, but his favorite was the tuba, so I put several of those in. The quilt went together really quickly and was lots of fun to make, the only part I had to really focus on was the cream color stars in the border. I have difficulty getting corner blocks to fit precisely on borders and Seminole Borders are hard for me, too. I've only done one of each and just need more practice with them. Same thing with piano key borders! LOL! Anyway, I love the Northern Star pattern and Sue Bouchard signed my book in Paducah, which was special for me. She was such a gracious person, such a delight to meet!

cyber-Sue, I'll have you know, you may think I'm no bigger than a f_ _ _ _, but after Paducah I had a Dr.'s appt. and I weighed 146 lbs.! You just thought I was little at Paducah because I was whizzing around the fabric tent so fast it was an optical illusion! LOL! I am still laughing about what you said, it cracked me up! By the way, you are the most fun person and I enjoyed meeting you soooo much!!!!

SadieDaisy, I've only used my HQ16 once to quilt my charity quilt for Paducah and haven't been able to get back to it due to the wedding, etc... But, I'm about to dive in head first and give ole Scarlett a run for her money! The only hard part I've encountered is loading the layers, the quilting part is fun-fun-fun and I love the machine so far. I've got her on a 12' table right now that my son built for me. I can't decide which to use for dad's quilt, a groovy board Baptist Fan, or just free motion some stars and curly-q doodles free-hand...probably go with the latter.

Nanjam, the Fun-N-Done quilt is lots of fun to make! And very forgiving, too!

The rag quilt on the back of the sofa next to the Pineapple quilt, is one my mom made for Bill awhile back. That lady is the Queen of rag quilts, she has made several for us and they are gorgeous and so cuddly. The batik Flying Geese one she made was her first pieced quilt, I think, and she did a fantastic job on it. She backed it with Minkee.

I love the painting and was so surprised when I received it. I'm so far behind on posting pics it's unreal! I still have pics of soldiers in Irag and Afghanistan from the stockings for troops project I haven't posted for ya'll! Shame on me! And oodles of pics from Paducah, too. I met Piecemaker1 in the fabric tent in Paducah and have a pic of us together I've wanted to share. Anyway, I hope to get caught up on posting pics this week, even if they are late, I want to share them with ya'll.

Pam, the quilts are wonderful! That painting would look SO good in my sewing studio. I think you should share - LOL. I love the batiks with the black that your mom made - it's a special treasure for you, I'm sure. And I just love your dad's quilt with the music stuff on it. That one just blows me away! Grandmonkey - cute as ever.

Hi Pam...absolutely love all your quilts. The painting is wonderful. I love the way it is framed.

Where would I find directions for the Fun & Done quilt? That is such a great pattern for a guy, but could be girly too with the right fabrics I guess.

Will be anxious to see the pictures from the Christmas stocking project.

Thanks for sharing all your great quilts, and for the wonderful wedding pictures.

Lovely pieces of artwork, every one. Your dad's quilt is my favourite. I think he'll tear up or cry a little.

Beautiful work, as usual, Peaches! Now that the wedding is past, you will have more time to quilt and chat here on the forum!

Life events are wonderful, but they can really cut into a gal's sewing time--LOL
