I like Carol's(Kittyquilt)idea of a "carry all", I think something simple would be the best way to go. I would rather we pick one pattern and leave the choice of fabrics or embellishments to each individual.

Here's an idea. I found a free pattern for a grocery bag tote. I keep thinking I should bring my own bag to the store or to the farmers market. Here's the link:

It looks really easy and only uses a yard of fabric.

Cindy,
I would LOVE a swap like this....in the fall. I'd need time over the summer to attempt a tote and learn from the experience if necessary. Of course, it could be an all over 'bag' swap that could range from a sassy tote, to a back pack to a grocery bag.

Also, it might save a lot of time and postage to make it a one-to-one swap. That way, gifts can be sent directly to the partner. I did this last Christmas on another forum and it really worked out. They set a dollar limit and time limit and we each got a snail mail address. The swap hostess said it was much less work for her.

Great idea Cindy. Those totes have me thinking too!!

I like Dawne's idea of a one to one swap, it would make it easier on the hostess. The site that sadiedaisy1 posted looks really easy, and since it has no lining it doesn't take alot of time or effort to put together.

Oasis, posted a picture of a lovely tote she made using the pattern posted by sadiedaisy1. It is really pretty and seems very simple to make.

I vote we do that pattern and make it a one to one swap. Pattern is easy and one to one is easier for the hostess since she does not have to do anything except match up partners.

Sadiedaisy's pattern is a perfect serger project. I'll definitely set mine up next time. Will do double seams and finish all at once. It does get a little thick in some spots. The pattern is very simple, easy and free, how much better can it get.............
Have Fun,
