Hi....
I'm at my son's apartment in Milwaukee this weekend (he's still sleeping, so I'm using his computer). He just got a new 40" flat screen TV, and blue ray player -- and wanted me to see how cool the movies are.... it's funny, but then I realize that's how excited I would be to get a new sewing machine!!

It's terrible that part of me is wishing I were sewing at home!!! He's 28, so I just want to enjoy time with him while I can.... I'm hoping someday he will find a nice girl to settle down with!!!

Yesterday was warm and muggy here, with lots of thunderstorms in the evening. Today will be rainy too.... maybe I'll get a little sewing done when I get home.

Good Morning from Minnesota

It's a little cool here this morning, and kind of over cast, but I'm sure hoping the sun pops out later!! Temp is only 62!

DD is still sleeping on the couch so I'm trying to keep quiet! Since I wasn't able to do any sewing yesterday I am hoping to get to the baby quilt today, in between loads of laundry and ironing clothes for the work week. And if the sun DOES come out, it would be a good day to get the lawn mowed. But first, I'll have to see if I can manage to put new blades on my lawn mower. The guy at the hardware store assured me that it's not difficult and I can manage it myself. If not, I'll have to put on my "poor little old me" face and see if my neighbor will help me. One of the down falls of being single--no guy with tools. Where's Tim Allen (Home Improvement) when you need him???

Hope y'all have a great day. I'll check in later and see how everybody is doing!

I have selected fabrics for my teapot swap blocks and will be tracing my fusible later. I took a break from sewing to finish up some other projects in my sewing room. I found instructions on how to make an ottoman out of a large rubbermaid tub with a cover and I am in the process of putting it together. What is really cool is that you can still use the tub for storage and it looks pretty at the same time.LOL
I will post a picture when I get finished with it.

Good Morning All ~ We are having a beautiful sunny day here and it would be perfect for sewing..............too bad I have to go to a meeting this afternoon. Yesturday was a very productive day, I took almost all my "extra" fabric and seperated it out. I have a dear friend who is doing tons of sewing for a group of rainbow girls about an hour from me and she is on a fixed income so..............about three hours later I have about 6 grocery bags stuffed full of fun kid friendly fabrics and patterns that the girls will love. It will be such fun to see those little ladies dressed up in new formals and I have more space. I still have some favorites that I just had to keep, not sure what I am going to do with it but I am sure I will think of something! :-) I think it is a win-win for all of us. Now I just have to clean up the mess. LOL
Happy stitching!! Debi

Hey everyone... I thought I would pop in before my family got back home and the house turns CRAZY!!! I got to sleep in a bit this morning... Erik took the kids for breakfast and they are still gone... wow... it is so amazing how quiet the house can actually be... funny! Anywho I have been busy stitching away on all the swaps DJ has us doing... wow she keeps us on our toes! :) I also need to finish up my Uncle Sam BOM for my class on Tuesday night.... and I as much a s I hate running around on weekends I need to run out and pick just one more thing up to finish my Secret Pals prize... I was hoping to have it all done and sent by Friday but life happens, right? Anywho I hope you all have a great day sewing.. and I'll check back in later!

Susanna- How is your uncle Sam coming? Mine is almost done... not very "creative" but it will be done for Tuesday!!! :)

Quiltnewby- Enjoy your time with your son and tell him congrats on his new TV and blueray... I am a techno geek so I can understand his excitement!!!

Marymargaret- Good luck on putting your lawn mower blades... yuk!

Sewsew- The ottoman sounds really cool... would love to see a picture! You are soooo creative... and crafty! :)

Debi- Wow... you have extra fabric???? How does that happen... I have a hard time parting with even scraps... they are all treasures I may NEED someday... hahaha! Just kidding, Good for You! The girls will have a great time I am sure! Now you have room to buy more fabric... heehee... what did you say 6 grocery bags worth??? LOL!

Cheers!

Okay, I am done with my ottoman and I really love the way it came out. I may change the skirt on it to a gathered skirt but that will not be difficult to do because once you have the basic top finished the rest is easy. I also have a larger cushion that I may add to sit on the top and make it more of a stool to sit on.

Hi All,

Hi HO, HI HO its off to sew I go. It is 91 here already and the real heat of the afternoon is still about 3 hours away. I don't intend to stick my nose out the door today. I am going to SEW! I have to get stuff together for a LQS class tomorrow and, since they are about 45 minutes away, she called yesterday and said if I can bring in my completed BOM tomorrow for class I won't have to wait until Sat. to pick up the new one. That is really kind; she is thinking of us who are far away with gas $4 a gallon.

Will check in later - maybe.

Hi Fabricgal, I am right here =====> <waving my arms>

Dewdew, I saw your 'ottoman' in the picture albums. How clever, how cute and what a good job you did on it.

Now please, pretty please with sugar, can you share with us how to make one like that?

I've taken care of my birdies. The babies are growing their feathers and their tail is starting to grow. they're SO cute.

I chatted with Jeff on-line for a bit. He's fighting jet lag today so he is staying in. He send a slew of pictures from the concert in the park in Oslo where they went yesterday.

Yum, they I made myself mini breakfast burito's, with frsh boiled potatoes that i chopped up into the frying pan and dumped a beaten egg over it. melted some cheddar cheese in the nuker, and voila. Yum Yum. Cleaned the kitchen and took out all recycables.

Gues now I can get back to sewing. I need to find my 16" sq. ruler to cut the side triangles for my table runner. Looks cute in red/white n blue.

New pics in the album forum. One of a baby blanket with panda bears on it. SO cute.

I think I might run to a LQS tomorrow, I need more July 4th fabric, if I can't find what i need, I'll run to QIAD.
