machine quilting on cotton batting

how close do you machine quilt on cotton batting? i usually use poly batting but thought i woud give cotton a try but looking at package it says 2-4 inches had not planned on doing it that close do you think there will be a problem if i do it futher apart than that?

Hi are you talking about warm and natural batting because you can quilt it 10 inches apart.

I'm afraid I'd go with what it said on the package. You might be ok quilting it farther apart....or you might not. It's your call and probably depends on wether this is an hairloom, of just a kid's quilt to be used and played with.

yes its warm and natural im pretty sure will have to check and seeif i emptyed the garbage can in sewing room if its still there will see if its warm and natural
