I Spy Fun

Post by sewcarolyn » Mon Jun 02, 2008 4:43 am

I finally was able to deliver the I Spy Quilt I made my nephew's son to him this weekend. They are visiting from Japan. How fun to see my almost 21 year old and Tristan play with the quilt. Izzy had as much fun as Tristan. I know these photos are large sorry :( I didn't reduce the size.

Nice pics, nice size too, don't worry, they aren't too big! Looks like they are enjoying the quilt too! What pattern is this, just curious? I have made a few I Spy quilts & love doing them! Thanks for sharing!

HappyMrs it's nice to see you posting, we've missed you.

I like the bigger pictures so we can see the details of the quilts. I like the on-point layout. We should be getting our "I SPY" blocks back from the swap before too long. I'm looking forward to making them up into one of these darling quilts.
Have Fun,

Nancy-I will look up the name of this pattern. I did 4 I Spy quilts each with a different pattern to try different techniques. I figure you can't mess up a fun quilt like this. The blocks are on point and since I knew these were going to be "travel" quilts I just backed them with fleece and spot quilted the 2 layers together. This family is stationed in Japan and they travel a great deal. The ones I made for my other nephew's kids have already been to China, Mexico and DC in addition to all over CA. The Moms love them because they entertain the kids while traveling and bring a piece of home to hotel rooms.

Carloyn... great pics... love the Ispy's! Where are they stationed? We were at Yokota Air Base for three years before we had a kids... we loved it... I taught conversational English to Japanese business people and my DH was a C130 Navigator... I have kept in touch with many of them to this day...

Cheers!
