my first Amish Diamond
Hi all,
Thought I'd share some progress on a project I'm working on. It's an ugly fabric swap I'm doing locally. (gotta save that postage sometimes!)
Here is the fabric she gave me on a background of the neutral I chose - Kona cotton, *Bone* as the colour.

Is it just me or does anyone else see a bird's eye and beak in the middle of the fabric??
And here is the first Amish Diamond block I've made. I wanted to pull this ugly fabric into my partner's prefered colours - she loves turquoise and fuschia. I didn't think I could make the fuschia work but I think the turquoise works well.

I'm going to make either a table runner or a table topper with 2 placemats as her gift.

Thanks Sadie. My family thinks I'm a bit nuts but I think it's a very abstract pattern - lots of birds flapping their wings like mad.

Beautiful choice in colors. Quite nice. It took me a little bit, but I was looking for the eye and beak in the other direction. LOL As I got closer to the scape, pow It just jumped out at me. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I definitely see the bird, beak and eye. You've really done a nice job with the colors. Eager to see it when it's all done. HUGS< carol/kittyquilt PS, Remember, as quilters, we look at things differently than others and can always see the good and the fascinating!
