what you can do with 9 patch blocks
Here is yet another table topper I'm making from 9 patch blocks I had lying around. They aren't perfectly square but it doesn't matter for this. In fact, this is a great way to use 'less than perfect' blocks.
four 9 patches in a garden theme with a green print with lots of purple and turquoise.

I added the purple and turquoise borders and a bit of decorative stitches. It's the daisy stitch. I'm thinking of binding the project in white.

Any ideas or suggestions for binding?

I love this! the colors are great and your "less than perfect" blocks looks pretty perfect to me.

Very pretty! Being pretty 'traditional', I guess I'd bind it in the navy blue - but any of those colors would work great!

Very sweet looking project.
I would bring the backing over to the front as binding and stitch it down with a decorative stitch.

Thanks everyone! You are all kind.
Just for what it's worth these colours are a little out of my comfort zone. If the garden print didn't have LOTS of purple and turquoise I would have never thought to use them. I'm pretty pleased thus far.
Tul,
I had the same thought you had but I had it too late!
I don't think I can get the backing over to the front unless I trim the purple border by half an inch.
Actually, that might work just fine. I'd do a leaf on a vine stitch, I think, to accent the garden theme.

Very pretty!! Good use for the "not so perfect" (who needs perfect anyway?) 9 patches -- it looks great! Happy trails, jacquie
