Good Afternoon! The best laid plans and all of that <g> just now getting back to my sewing machine to make the label. While mucking stalls, DH started some "yard work" (we have 30 acres of 'yard'). we're hitting the high 90's today and after 2 hours of raking dirt, sticks, limbs, sage brush and weeds, I was exhausted! My new flowers will just have to wait till tomorrow.

Off to make the label while waiting for the Preakness to start. Oh, got my "slightly used" Grandmothers Garden Quilt book today and FQ gift from "QIAD" The book and gift were missing from my order. It got here the day I called -- wow, the staff at QIAD are just the greatest!!
Happy Trails, jacquie

Good afternoon ladies. I haven't started sewing yet, but do plan to. I cut out a couple skirts last night and washed all the fabric I got from the QIAD sale. I'm going to sew up the skirt today and probably cut start cutting out a quilt. Lori

Just checking back in. Thank you, everyone, for your kind wishes for my HQ. Cindyg, don't give up. You'll get going on that quilting project eventually and be happy with the result. ...and I really feel for you folks broiling in CA. We are having an unusually mild day in Central Texas, but the intensely hot weather is scheduled to begin next week. Gotta go and start work on tonight's dinner. Guess I better be real nice to DH since he's being so supportive about getting my HQ. I'm still so excited I can't hardly stand it.

Tulpje, it sounds like you are beginning to make progress on getting your system up and going.--Good luck getting the remaining pieces!

Mary

Hi I just found everyone. I am getting ready to go to the sewing room and put all of my new stuff in it. I may cut out a quilt tonite. I have been downloading quilt pictures from the Kansas City LA Convention. Take a look if you have time the quilts were really beautiful. It's much smaller than Paducah.

I got my daughter-in-law's quilt about 3/4 "meandered" and my backside said ENOUGH, so I think I may call it a night. Hope all of you have a wonderful rest of Saturday evening/night.

*Smile*

Taking a short break from getting used to using my Pinnacle LA.

LOL Thank God I broke out the closet in that room about 2 years ago, so that now the LA fits INTO my quilt room.

LOL, 1) Don't leave needle down while moving fabric to the next place to quilt.

2) Don't get hypnothised by the movement of the quilt machine and keep stitching in one and the same spot. It is tough to get the mount of thread out of the machine.

3) read manula BEFORE trying to use LA.

4) do NOT place your finger to be stitched in the ditched under the needle.

5) Again read the manula how to roll fabric on which rod correctly.

6) Use an 'ugly' sheet of fabric to practise quilting on it.

7) Don't ever think you know better and can cut corners to get started faster. Refer back to reading manual first.

All in all it is a pretty fun day. And having two new toys it is always a toss-up which one to play one. Baby EL or Pinnie LA (La Pinnie).

Sorry, but I might not be on-line as often as I used to.

Please, I can't stress this enough, but Please DO consider signing up for the EL's Angels Quilt project. I prommise you won't regret it if you do.

BBL

I hope y'all have something nice to eat for dinner.

I'm going to make cubed steaks, yellow squash with zuchinni, yams and bakers. And we'll have a salad with it.
