How do you use freezer paper when quilting? I thought perhaps to stabilize your pieces? blocks?
Thanks in advance!

Re: freezer paper and quilting
I've never used it but is just about to.... Will try to use it for applique, but I have a question.
I've read somewhere that freezer paper shrinks when you iron it onto fabric, and that you should iron it before using it, in order to "preshrink" it. On what temperature should the iron be set, both for pre-ironing and then for ironing the freezer paper onto the fabric? Can it stand a cotton setting?

Re: freezer paper and quilting
I just heard about the shrinkage to Maria
) The paper can easily stand the cotton setting, I iron it on both sides just to make sure it will stick good and tight

Thanks littlebit - I would never have thought of ironing it on from both sides. Sounds like very good idea.

Its my understanding that it only shrinks in one direction. The only time its a big deal is if you are using it for large pieces. Like HUGE pieces. on an eighteen by tenty four size piece it will shrink about 1/8 of an inch.
