What pretty blocks! That fussy cut fabric is really different. Reminds me of the 60's! I hope to get going on the rest of mine soon. ~Abbigail~

Jan, I've never hear of the Album Twist block--- I can't wait to see it! :-)

I've got both set of pieced blocks cut and went ahead and made up one of each to see how they look. I'll try to post a picture soon!

I've also got my butterflies for the second set cut and ready to assemble! I am so anxious to see how it turns out, but I'm trying to complete my 30's blocks first, since they are due soon.

It's a good day for sewing here--- dark and rainy. If it weren't for sewing, I'd probably be in bed napping! :-)

Jan,
That is a very pretty block, but it looks confusing to me! I haven't tried paper-piecing yet--- one day I would like to though!

Jan - cute block. Perfect for a your butterfly focus fabric. Jan you are going to enlarge to 12" correct? The blocks are to be 12".

I have been visiting with Mickey and Minnie last week and my butterflies went with me. I have finished the old fashioned butterflies = they are bright bright yellow on blue. Maybe I'll get a photo soon - I am on crutches for a few days and it is HARD to get anything done! It's like work - walking on those things - looking forward to getting my flat shoe. Nothing too bad - just a fracture on my foot - but it is S L O W I N G me down for sure.
Hope you all are well.

When I asked earlier it was said the block could be any size bigger then 6 1/2.. My two theme blocks are not 12 1/2 one is 10 1/2 the other 10. It's back on page four..........

Vicky - any size between 6 to 12" finished block. Yes, Round 3 blocks should be a different butterfly pattern.

Question: Is there a size for the traditional quilt block? Can it be smaller than 12 inches?

Vicky - I misunderstood your question. That is my fault - I thought you were asking me about the butterflys. It is fine whichever size you have done, you as well Jan.

Well darn, I finished my first set of butterflies, came in to dbl check the block size and noticed,

"The Background fabric must be sky blue (no night skies please)"

I appliqued my butterflies onto WOW.

They were easy enough, I just hate applique! lol ribbit and redo.....
