Gwen,

I like your butterfly! I talked to my daughter and she said she would like this quilt when we get all the blocks together :-)

Thanks, everyone! :) I wasn't sure how he was gonna look-- and I think he sort of looks like a moth, but I think he'll be pretty with all the other "flying flowers" :-).

DJ, my block is 12 1/2 by 10-- rectangle.

I think the most fun part will be when everyone gets their blocks back and we see all the different layouts we choose! So excited, I can't wait!!!

DJ -

I have my material, but haven't chosen my butterflies yet. I want to try to get them done this week or next weekend when I go to my MIL's for our Saturday sew-in. I go to her house on Saturdays, cook dinner (she usually just get's frozen dinners) and cut whatever she wants cut for her quilts and kinda help her out. If she doesn't have too much to do, I show her what I'm working on and she really enjoys it. She will be 82 in December and has had several strokes in the last 6 mos so is slightly mobility challenged.

After searching I finally found my second butterfly pattern :-) I plan on starting them Monday.

I haven't started my theme blocks yet but I have the material for them. I've been working on my daughters crazy quilt and I got it to the sandwiching stage! It will be done when she returns in July. I want it on her bed for her return to us.

Jan,

I know your MIL must be so proud and appreciative to have you for a DIL! It's really nice that you two can enjoy time together and share a hobby!

2nd butterfly 6 1/2x 6 1/2

They will not all be the same but similar as I don't have enough of the orange to back them all in.

P.S. I will sew on an antenna.

I guess I should pick out my 2 theme blocks? It seems everyone else has there's already. Anyone want to offer suggestions?

Jan,

I was looking through previous Lotto Blocks last night and saw 2 that I really liked-- plus they were really easy to make. "Louisiana" and "Square and Half Square". I also really like "Antique Tile". If I hadn't already chosen my blocks, I'd probably choose those.

Picking blocks is so much fun, but there are just SO many pretty ones to pick from! I'm still amazed at all the pretty designs that you can make from just a few little pieces of fabric! I think that's what makes quilting so neat-- you can take just a small amount of fabric-- even use just scraps-- and make the most beautiful things from them!!!

Can't wait to get started on mine! First, I've a couple other projects that need to be completed, though.

Gwen
