breast cancer fabric to give away
2 FQs (roughly 22" square) are free to a good, charitable home. If you look at fabric number 25486 at this link: http://www.quiltingtreasures.com/conten ... nt259.html you'll see what it looks 'like'.
Mine has a pink background instead of white. I call it 'medium pastel' pink. Whatever it is, it is lovely.
Funny but true story - I was shopping in the last 10 min. of a sale and saw this pink fabric with flowers on it. I grabbed some (at 50% off) with the vague idea that eventually I'd do a baby quilt sampler style. Got it home, cut the half meter into FQs and put them in my 'to wash' pile.
Only today (MONTHS LATER) did I pull them out and notice the breast cancer ribbons very subtly throughout the fabric! Duh! I haven't even washed them b/c I just don't have a need for them at the moment. I'd have to buy lots more fabric in order to use these FQs.
Anyway, my idiot moment can be your gain. If you think you can benefit from a FQ PM me. I think this would be lovely used in small bits throughout a quilt or as part of a block in a sampler quilt.
First 2 people to let me know their address will have a FQ mailed to them by this Wed.

Re: breast cancer fabric to give away
I would love to adopt one FQ! I plan to make a quilt for our "Relay for Life" fundraiser held to raise money to help in the area of cancer research. I also want to sew up some heart-shaped pillows to donate to our area oncolgy dept. They give these pillows to women who have undergone a mastectomy and the patients call the pillows their "Breast Friend" because the pillows ease the pressure and pain in the area in which they had their breast removed.
Thanks~Marcia
PS A week ago my mom's oncologist doctor informed my mom (who had undergone a mastectomy last year) that her breast cancer is now in remission! Thanks be to God!

Marcia,
I'm really happy to hear that your mom is doing well. A real cause to celebrate. It's heartening that even though your mom is doing well you continue to think of others. Please PM your addy.
Maryelle,
Thanks for your addy. I can't wait to see the beautiful quilt made by various forum members and quilted by GP. I bet she's using her new toy/birthday present

Re: breast cancer fabric to give away
Seems I'm always a day late and dollar short!!!!!!!LOL. I'm making a pink hearts quilt top to send to mequilter, so could have taken it off your hands, but, maybe next time I'll see post in time.
The blocks each have 3 hearts in them, each one a different pink.
I just ordered a pink FQ set from QIAD. I need to take another trip to my LQS to look for more pinkies! When the set arrives I will have 34 different pinks, so I'm gettin' there. This has been fun and is one of my May Madness projects.
BTW, if you haven't joined the "Madness" project, it's a great way to get motivated to work on UFOs and WIPs. Look over in the SWAP section and join up. There are even prizes to be won!
Have fun and blessings to all El's Angels for a great week! carol/kittyquilt

Marcia, are the pillows you're making the Pink Ribbon Comfort Pillow. I saw the pattern on the connecting Threads website and thought I would make some, but haven't heard any feedback on this pattern. If it isn't, what pattern are you using that is so helpful? thanks, and so happy to hear your Mom is in remission. Thanks be to our Wonderful God. carol/kittyquilt
