I love quilts like this. I call them assymetrical but that may not be the right term. It's just lovely. You really have a gift.

Such a beautiful quilt and the fact that it was unplanned from the beginning is mind boggling. You have a real talent.

Absolutely georgous. I love the array of blocks. You'd never know it wasn't planned. Turned out super! You should be proud!

You are so talented Redtop!! I am happy to hear that you actually hand quilt! Very relaxing. Love this quilt so much. Your colors work so well together, but your borders are my favorite!
I'm working on a scrap quilt now and it is very difficult not to plan this out. Usually, I follow a pattern and mostly make traditional quilts. Great job!

Mequilter, No I did not plan one thing. I had fabric I always used to try blocks that I found in quilting books that I liked. Some of the blocks were nice-some wasn't. As I said earlier, I used leftover 2 1/2 inch strips--I used the strips to make the blocks fit together. I trimmed wherever I needed to--some aren't even square. The pieced border is cut from the strips too. Look at the strips and you will realize that they were sewed together without preplanning. Nothing matches, but I have a young neice who loves this quilt.
Nanjam, it isn't talent--it just happened when I didn't have anything else to do one day. I've started collecting more blocks as they are made. Maybe in years to come I can do this again. I am using light colors this time. I collected the first blocks for several years.
