sunday the 13th SEW IN

Post by sewcarolyn » Sun Apr 13, 2008 9:47 am

I popped on to say HI and no one has started this thread! I worked on 2 more Sues this morning, not finished but started at least. My plans for the rest of the day
1. Go to a Democratic Caucus for electing delegates for the convention...never done this before it should be interesting
2. Bake cakes for the cake decorating class Izzy and I are taking on Tues.
3. Sew

Hi Carolyn,
I have been working on the bow tie blocks. I have the knots done for the first set of blue and need to piece the blocks together.

My DH has a private pilots license and we are going to Camarillo this afternoon and meeting with a very good friend of mine. So I will talk to you later.

Hi gals, I'm here. Working on some machine applique blocks for the breast cancer squares. Still cold out here but at least the sun is shining. Anyone else here?

Hey y'all! Home from work---JEEZ what a day!!!---in my comfy clothes, have elected to stay home for dinner. It will be hot dogs, beans, mac'n'cheese, and raw veggies.

Still VERY warm here, but there is a good stiff wind blowing, so that helps a lot. Doubt I will get any sewing done; I should hit the rack early tonight to recover from working. We had 2 sick calls today, leaving just 3 consultants to see more than 30 patients. We made some pleading phone calls yesterday, but no one wanted to come in, even for time and a half. Oh well...it's over now...but all three of us ended up pretty wiped out!

Hi everyone,
Your right Carole, its beautiful today. Just came in from working outside. Can't do too much cause it's hot.

The wind blowing makes me a little nervous cause of fires. In campo on fri & sat it blew at 50mph. I thought we might see TOTO & Dorothy
LOL

Off to see what we are going to bbq. Maybe chicken & do veggie packets.

I'm physically and mentally pooped this evening. Having twin grandbabies is exhausting - LOL!! I didn't do a lick of anything productive all weekend. I can't even muster up the energy to do a load of laundry. I'm going to sit on my keister and watch "Desperate Housewives" and then go to bed early. Gotta work tomorrow then come home and do laundry and cook and try to get back to normal.

Anybody hanging around? Just sitting here in the post-feeding coma--lol!

I just paid a bounty to my eldest: she killed 3 houseflies and probably got a 4th one as well. I gave her a quarter each for the three she smashed, and 15 cents for the "probable". I absolutely HATE flies in the house! Ma has a bad habit of opening the door for the dog...and waiting....for the dog to make up her mind to go out or not. Drives me up the wall, mainly because it lets in the d**n flies!

But, eldest DD is happy to have made some easy money and I am happy because the flies are gone! It all works out one way or the other!

Did laundry today. Seems like I haven't done much else. But laundry is almost done and dinner is already finished, so I'm free for the rest of the evening.

I'd like to sew on some mini bow tie squares for that swap just to see how they turn out. I haven't joined yet. but I don't think I have any solid white background fabric.

Also, I got a new sewing machine a Sapphire 870 from Husq/Viking. I don't see a 1/4 inch foot and I have to still figure out how to use the machine. It came with classes but I have to sign up, etc.

I could go organize in my sewing room but it seems like I do more organizing and trying to find stuff than I do actually sewing. Guess I'll go see what I can work on. Something that doesn't needa 1/4 in seam allowance.

Looks like we got mostly Californians here except for Cindyg who's in the Texas doghouse. What a weekend, nice and sunny but HOT! I would prefer there be a few spring days between winter and summer. I wanted to do some other chores today but the heat just zapped my energy!

Back to work tomorrow.
