I got my noodles! There was a sticker on the envelope saying that they were returning the package to me it says "we regret that your mail was not collected or is being returned to you due to heightened security requirements." My stamps were not cancelled so I can use them again :) They came "back" to me because the return address was mine....

they are LOVELY!!!

Mine said the same as Carolyns. I just noticed they didn't cancel my stamps either.

The fabrics are beautiful. Now I need to find a project for them. Lori

Maybe I'll get mine today with some sort of silly sticker. What did everyone do different with their package and stamps to get theirs faster?

This postage thing happened to another swap I was in last year. Just because a package has stamps on it, doesn't allow it to be dropped into any sort of mail pick up. The postal persons must ask questions to the one doing the mailing. The limit is for anything mailed over 13oz. Federal security, like going to the airport these days. So, this means you have to stand in line, in the post office. I think we all eventully got our package with the exception of one that had no return label. Gads

So, do I need to have the guy at the post office put a label on the return envelope versus stamps on the heavier packages? They always put a label on the outside envelope, but give me stamps for the enclosed return envelope?
Mystery to me.

1st, I have not received my March noodles yet. I know I sent them priority because of weight.

2nd, the metered labels that are put on the envelopes that we send out have a code on them with the sending post office on it. They can not put that label on the envelope we put inside because that envelope will not be sent from our post office. I think if you print the labels off on your computer at home that is different.

Is that as clear as mud???

I thing these rules were put in place because of the Anthrax and because of 9/11.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean. I'm not sure what I could have done differently to make them go faster. My mailman has always picked up all of my packages with no problem...for like 5 years. Last Monday, March 31, he takes all of them but 1. Wednesday, the doorbell rings and DH answers it. Mailman tells him he had to bring 6 back due to them being over 13 ounces and have a stamp on them. The next day, Thursday, April 3- I take all 6 to Smyrna Tennessee, stand in line for 25 minutes, ship all 6 out with no issues except 1 was short a little on shipping, no problem. Should I have paid for delivery confirmation so I could track them...yes. I will from now on. I do not mind at all. I'm not an expert on shipping. I do ship ALOT of stuff though. I know that all packages will get there, but it makes me mad that they aren't yet. The only package that has not left my house is one going over seas and that is a special situation. I'm as frustrated as you are, maybe more. It makes ME look like a jerk, like I've done something wrong or something. And, I'm mad at myself for not spending the extra 1.65 for each package to be tracked.

Please, PM me if you have not gotten them. It's easier for me to keep track. Also, this is embarrassing. Amie
