Danny's Quilt - back from the longarmer - several pics

Some of you may have seen Danny's quilt before. Last night I got it back from the longarmer and I just LOVE it. Every block is different. I don't have a picture of the whole quilt. Lorraine has it and is binding it. I will show several of the blocks. I hope you can see the quilting - it is really amazing.

This is the center block of the quilt. It's my favourite.

The quilting on this one just pops! It's verrigated thread.

My friend made this block. I love how Gerene (the longarmer) chose a really geometric motif to highlight the block.

I made this block and was satisfied with it. Didn't really love it - I do now!

Wow! Dawne it's so pretty - didn't know LA quilters could do the blocks separate like that. I thought all they could do was an all over pattern. Shows you what I know about it!! lol

These blocks are beautiful! The quilting just makes them pop, it's so pretty!

Stormy,
The longarmer is Gerene Chisholm. She did this for free, as part of the outreach. I'd never met her before. Just asked at a guild meeting (about 90 ladies, can't know them all) and she volunteered.

She'll be doing quite a few of my quilts in the future. Not small or informal quilts but anything really special I will have done by her b/c her rates are very reasonable.

I thought that she would do an all over simple design as well. She really pulled out the stops, IMO, and made a lovely quilt become FABULOUS.

Thanks to all of you for your kind remarks.

When I get a picture of this quilt hung on the clothes line I'll show it here.
