This one sounds interesting but I'll have to think on it for a while. I've got so many other things to get done I don't want to commit until I know I can do it for sure. But it does sound like fun and I'll let you know soon.

I am really considering joining this swap. I think I will make a sample block before I join.

Ok, I have a question regarding the block. Should we use florals or prints for the outside portion, not the flower portion. I guess what I'm asking is should the outside of the flower be a solid or does it not matter as long as the flower is bolder (darker/lighter) than the outside strips?

Quilto- I'm using all floral fabric. No solids, it makes for a more interesting look. I have managed to find coordinating/contrasting florals for each square.

Welcome Sarah. How many sets? Christine, I was looking at some of the blocks above and they use both. I would say if you are going to use a print for the background make sure your flowers are like you say bolder. I made some yesterday and I used a solid because it was what I had. I really would like you ladies to use your stash first before spending money on more fabric. For one who has been on Fabric Restriction since November (DH finally found out just how much fabric I do have) - I know that is really hard. I am only buying backing or battings right now. Oh I also am on Rooster restriction:)

Sarah thank you for your PM. It will take roughly 1 1/4 yards of a floral and 1/4 yards of a background to make 12 flowers.

DJ, Like you I'm trying to use up my stash first, without having to buy more fabric because like you my DH said I don't need to buy more fabic I need to use what I have. It is so hard not to buy fabrics though.

Sue thanks for your advice also. I was pulling out fabric and putting some together and I wasn't sure I had enough florals to do 1 set. I have some very bright heart fabric, but it is probably to bold for this project.
