L-Bit,
Just to give you an idea of the kind of people there....when my Mom died we were in the funeral procession to the cemetary and every body pulled their cars over and stopped and even one elderly poor looking man riding a bicycle stopped, got off his bike and took off his ballcap and held it over his heart.
That really touched me.

Awww C-Sue, that sounds so endearing. How sweet for them to do that.

Cyber Sue - that is sweet, and luckily here in Kansas they still do that even in the bigger cities, just not on the interstates

There is for the most part a kindness that has remained despite the growth of the town.

Cyber I think that is a tradition back east. When I was in Oklamoma for a funeral. They did the same thing. As California people, we were so shocked & moved by this. I dont recall people doing that here, they would probably run you over. But it was so touching to see it.

When I was growing up it was about 40,000 but it has really grown since then and some of the bedroom communities have really increase the size of the area.
I would have to look it up to know now.
I think that those going to the quilt show will see the thoughtfulness of the locals...I hope so.
