that quilt is awesome......

I can picture a thin border of the off white, then a little wider of the lighter blue, then the dark blue and maybe bind in the stuff that's the tiny block in the middle of the block. But that's just me and that's my 1 cent worth.

What ever you decide I know it's going to be GORGEOUS!!! and I can't wait to see a picture of it!!

Luv your quilt Katie, it is just stunning as is. I use the method that Carole calls "fakey fakey." I also see the layout that Mary Margaret suggested. Which ever you chose it will just be twice as stunning.

beautiful - i love it - i think i would bring the center colors out or at least give them a look see am not sure if would go light to dark or dark to light audition and let know

I love this quilt top and any border that you select will just enhance the framing of this quilt. I would lay it out with possible sample borders on the side of it and step back or maybe take a whole day and walk by it and glance over and see if it hits you right.
I would love to see a picture when you finish it.

I'm with Quilterbee (Amie). I think it would be awsome with black and a batik in the indigo shades. Your quilt is beautiful with the colors and shades you used. Yes it would be expensive but the way I look at it. "What is too expensive for a life long gift?"

I agree with cyberspacequilterer, sue, for I have decided on borders once and thought that was what I would like, but after laying them on and walking away glancing at it ever so often and waiting over night I had changed my mind and used different fabrics. and glad that I did..

totally agree with all who suggest placing them next to the quilt to get a feel for the best combos.

The colors are all beautiful.
