advice on batting

Post by Abbigail »

Well, I think I'm going to try to machine quilt on my sewing machine. What type batting is good to work with on machine quilting?

Hi there, Warm and Natural is a great batting to use and comes highly recommended at the quilt shops. It comes in off white or white and goes on sale quite often at Joann's Fabrics. Here is a link for you to read up on it. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. A couple of other had recommended the same. I guess I'll be checking it out to see if it's avaiable in my area. ~Abbigail~

I only use Warm and Natural in all of my quilts. I usually order it through Joann Fabrics on line but allways check for coupons first. The last time I orders I got it for 1/2 price with a coupon.

I use W & N, too! Or Hobb's Heirloom. W & N is very heavy to quilt and Hobb's is lightweight but has a nice hang to it. If I didn't quilt on a frame, I would use Hobb's to avoid a back/shoulder injury,lol! On the frame, it's W & N, Amie :o)

kittyquilt, you can sign up to be on the mailing list for JoAnn's flyers at the store and/or sign up online. I get both the flyer in the mail and emails from them and they both contain coupons. Lori
