Omaquilter, ya gotta have a sense of humor about the danged UFO's, PIGs, PHIBs, WIPs and WIMs....!

I *try* not to let too many build up, but they do anyway...I think my oldest UFO right now is our counted cross-stitch wedding "sampler". We married in 1995 and it's still not done <hanging head>. I designed it myself; it features our names and wedding date, and a hilarious poem by Ogden Nash:

"To keep your marriage brimming
With love in the loving cup,
Whenever you're wrong, admit it.
Whenever you're right, SHUT UP!"

I need to get this finished and hung up to remind DH of the wisdom of this approach.....LOL!

Glad to see you ladies popping in!

Helen, hope your living situation is improving. Hugs to you!

Stargatefan, I personally believe that scraps mate and multiply when left deep in baskets or boxes and not regularly exposed to light and air. This is an ongoing epidemic that must be stopped!

Busylady, I love having a relatively organized stash. Always makes me feel good to get everything back under control...until I can trash my sewing area again!

Jameswife, I just peeked at your finished top...VERY NICE! Bravo for getting it together. Are you going to hand quilt it?

Hi all, i haven't been posting but i have been following along with you, all of you are doins so well. i finished 3 christmas log cabin queen size quilts for my 3 grown kids. mine is still in almost finished blocks. :-), but when i counted my tops i had 16 so i have been working on them, most of the time. i have quilted and finished the binding on 3 quilts and have another one almost finished on the frame. when i wasn't quilting i was making more tops, ( i know, i am supposed to finish the UFO's first. i just can't stop the piecing. i made 3 more queen size tops in the last 2 weeks, they are now added to my UFO pile since i haven't finished them. but i guess ishould add the top which has all the blocks finished to the UFO pile. but i am also working on 2 quilts using the Applique in a day blocks. It seams like everytime i am making a quilt for myself (ha!) one of my kids or grandkids comes over looks at it and ohhhhhhh momma or ohhhhhh granny that is soooooo cool, i sure like that, i get silly and start making 2 or 3 of the same quilt. i think i have an addiction to making quilts for everyone. i just can't stop. but maybe i will get these tops quilted and have things ready for christmas before christmas eve.
well back to my sewing, it is 1 30 in the morning here in midwest city and i can't sleep. thought i would sew until i get sleeping

Hi Barbara, thanks for chiming in!

I love to piece tops...but I also love finishing off a quilt! I don't have a lot of storage space for larger things, so that has pushed me to finish projects and move them along to their new homes. It gets them out of here and frees up space for more...LOL!

And to all the UFO groupies...I got the hanging sleeve basted on my coffee mug quilt on Monday. It's ready for the binding strips...my gosh, it's almost DONE!

CaroleJ-Nope! When DH did the taxes, he found out we're getting a bit more than we had anticipated, so he promised me a machine frame! I've gotten him talked into a machine to go on it too. I'm gonna get a Bailey's Home Quilter 13 machine, stitch regulator, Little Gracie 2 frame, and the QuiltCAD program. I had to give up my rights to a Christmas present to do it, but I think it's definately worth it!!! I should be able to order it on Friday or so:)

Update: frame and machine are ordered!! Frame'll ship on Mon. or so, but it'll be a couple of weeks for the machine to ship(they have to build it) so I'll put my Brother machine on it until I get the bigger one. The guy I ordered from was really nice, and answered all my questions. I'm so excited I'm about to jump up and down:);
