Went out on a romp yesterday to a couple shops...doing my part to stimulate the economy...got a bunch of variegated thread for machine quilting, backing fabric for Ma's quilt, a big chunk o' batting (ON SALE!) and....<drum roll>.....I found the fabric for my LAST coffee mug for my Mug of the Month quilt--!
I was looking at a sedate pilgrim and turkey print. Nah. A farmyard print with turkeys I would have had to fussy cut. Nah. A very cute overall print of turkeys in Pilgrim hats, but a poor fit for my template. Nah. Then there it was, an overall print of goofy-looking turkeys with the words "Gobble 'til you wobble", AND the motif just fits the size of the piece needed for the mug!
Thanksgiving is our favorite family holiday...we all enjoy a good face stuffing of that luscious turkey...and we all like a good laugh. This is ideally suited to our family, and to the project. I love the humor in it and the colors fit right in.
Yeeee-haw! As soon as a decent hour arrives and the potluck pasta salad is underway, I am makin' me a quilt block with my turkey print!

Carol, glad to hear you found you much needed November fabric for you mug quilt, the motif sounds really cute. Please post a picture as soon as you finish your quilt, I have added this idea to my "to do" list.

I posted a picture of the ufo I finished back on June 14th. I was finally able to get DD#3 to hold it up for me so I could take a picture.

I pieced the flannel back to a lap size quilt this afternoon. Felt like I was smothering under the fabric! Wonder if I will have the "oomph" to get it layered and basted after the girls go to bed?

Ann and Carole, you gals are really putting me to shame. I'm still working on DD's quilt, but I have to force myself to sew. Not like me, maybe it's a summertime thing. Anyway got 2 of the first borders sewn on and decide it should have had a little folded border on firt.
So now I'll spend the evening unsewing. LOL
