This pattern would be nice in a valentine print fabric for a quilting friend. The pattern calls for using embroidery thread....I did that on the first one, but then tried a couple more with Perle cotton thread...and it worked great.

That is adorable, I make pin cushions also only a different pattern.. You can make one up in a sitting.. only I use steel wool(very fine) in the center to keep pins and needles sharp.. I will take a picture of one later and put it on here.. nice gifts, I think I gave over ten away and my niece came over and made one and gave to her friends also.. yours is very cute. They make wonderful little gifts..On mine you make eight circles fold in half and again. then use a running stitch along raw edges pull tight and do all eight of them on one string keeping them tight. then attach. you have a circle of like buds and this gets glued on a covered circle of card board. for center cut another circle, running stich around edge so you can pull it together stuffed with batting and some steel wool. glue in center of cardboard. this covers the edges of the circle of you just made.
kind of hard to explain I will have to hunt up the pattern.... I think I like yours better. But it is nice to know how to make different ones..
