Hi, Fran, MAW & mcmema! mcmema, yep, we're in the same time zone. Or, I think we are....it's 6:41 p.m. here.

I'm so proud of myself, I feel downright disciplined! I raced in and sewed the leaves on 7 of the French Rose blocks before I would let myself get back on here! LOL! I like doing everything to those blocks except sewing the leaves on. I'm doing this assembly line style. I have a question, I'm too lazy to get out my manual, can't remember...I'm using dark green thread on top and beige in the bobbin and I'm getting green on the bottom layer...do I lower or raise my upper thread tension to get it balanced?

DH is making wings, yum!

Hi All! I received one of the 'Mom and Baby' quilts in the mail today from Grammy65. I think SwtSarahJane put it together and Grammy65 did a BEAUTIFUL job of quilting it - has a butterfly motif. I am going to bind it - have the binding made and will sew it on by machine now and then do the hand sewing part sitting in my recliner tonight. I was really touched to see all the people and states represented and the nice sentiments written on it. El's Angels are ANGELS for sure!!

I'll try to check in when the binding is DONE!

Love to all!
Ann/gmaann

GP, are you using 2 leaves on every block? I noticed in the pic, there was just one leaf on some of the blocks.

Redtop, your kitchen figurine reminds me of those kitchen witches with faces that are so funny, I think they're made with stuffed pantyhose and they look like pumpkins. Ever seen one? Yes, the French Roses do go together quick, don't they? Did you sew your leaves down first then go back and sew around the first layer of rose?

gmaan, I'll bet the mom and baby quilt is really neat!

Hey, did anyone see my question below about adjusting upper tension?

I've been putting two on each block. Am I supposed to? Well, the quilt police are out in the cold snow, so I guess we can do what we want and they won't notice! LOL!
