Your grandaughter did a great job on her quilt. She should be proud and so should you!

Very cute and I don't mean just the quilt! It is so great seeing young quilters at work.
I know that when I have taken my daughter to quilt shows everyone is excited to see someone young (17 yrs old) learning to quilt. She gets so excited by all the fabric and she already has built up her own little stash.

Re: Granddaughter's First Pieced Quilt
Thanks for your nice comments. I can't wait to get the quilt to her. Every time she is here she would ask if it was done yet.
I had her use red thread so she could keep better track of her stitches. A few of the seams got a little narrow, so I went over all of them with a zig zag just to make sure they wouldn't come apart.
I even had my 5-year old grandson doing some machine quilting on Christmas stockings. He lasted about one line, and said "I think I need a break now." KInd of a wierd color for a Christmas stocking, but that was what he pulled out of my stash.

Great job! Your granddaughter is luck to have you!! She did a great job & so did you! I can relate to her choices. I had some ummmm weird ideas about fabric & what went together when I was that age.
