How do you iron out all of the creases?

Post by sadiedaisy1 » Thu Jan 10, 2008 11:32 am

I'm working on some blocks right now and trying to iron out the creases in my fabric. The fabric is not washed. I'm using a steam iron and heavy starch and still there are creases in my fabric. Am I being too picky or is there a way to get the creases out?

Sometimes I even have that problem when I wash the fabric. I do everything you do so I will be looking to see what others say.

try soaking a pressing cloth in white vinegar...wring out the pressing cloth and place over the crease...then iron...i was taught this technique in clothing construction and it always worked...if you dont have a pressing cloth...use a piece of light colored cotton fabric...

Try spritzing it with water, then ironing, then starching. If you iron with the starch before you get the creases out, it may make them worse or harder to get out. That's what I think at least, keep in mind I'm still pretty new, and I'm sick so I'm not quite all here:)

The vinegar, see above, works.

I often use a steamer and it relaxes the fabric then I can press

when this happens i usually will spritz with water and iron if this doesnt work toss in dryer on med heat with damp cloth works great on not only fabric but clothing as well - i dont prewash either and things can get pretty wrinkled
