I blush for all your praise for my littly tiny things. They are all my aprenticeship projects: the potholders have the Peeled Back block and an Origami pinwheel (3D, very simple indeed), if you have a proper look at both they are easily to be copied if you wish ... The cosmetic pouche has the famous lotto block on the front (a big thank you once again!), the wee basket was a bean bag in fact that a friend had sent me. Being not specially fond of balls I decided to try a fabric box (should have been made of squares rather than strips, the pattern would have been more "elegant"). My basic motivation why learn this was a BAG (made of on point squares) I had seen and I would like to make in the future ("once"). And don´t your new scissors deserve a new case, especially if you want to "practice" how to sew French braids?... (Should you ever want to make one, cut off the point at the bottom, it will be easier to sew and to bind.)

Reading what I have written, there are some misprints:
"pouch" and "bean BALL", sorry for them ...

Caroline, they are very simple. Cut four dark and four light squares - the second set are a bit smaller (mine were 5" and 4 1/2". Fold the smaller ones diagonally and put on the bigger ones alternating the colours. Then sew the four block together and "peel back" the diagonals (I just pinned them in the middle) and sew them down. This method (the Peeled Back technique) has been mentioned on this forum recently, have a look around).(3D Flying Geese will help you to understand the first steps before folding.)
For those who like the "juggle ball basket" - look here:
juggleballs.amielmartin.com (there is a tutorial). Enjoy!
