Re: Dozer and Daisy
Thanks everyone I love my pets so much. How wonderful to know that many of you have had turtles as pets. I love them so much I have two. Dozer is the Tortoise he is an African Spur Thighed Tortoise they are the 3rd largest in the world he is about 20-25 lbs so he is larger than my Daisy she is 12lbs. He can get up to 200 lbs and will out live me. He doesn't bite and doesn't care about the dogs or cat as a matter of fact all of my animals are so used to me bringing critters home it's just one more. I have another toroise the same kind as Dozer her name is Sage she is very young and small I don't think she is a pound yet. Dozer is 5 1/2 years old. I have a special paper documented for thier care after I'm gone I have three young people on the list for their care.

The picture of them is so cute. I have never known anyone who has had a tortoise. How in the world do you give a tortoise a bath? Does he have a special place to go to the bathroom? He looks like he just had a real good scrubbing. He looke like he would make a good pet. How will you handle him when he weights 200 lbs? our furbaby seems to not have a worry in the world. She sure is beautiful.

I love your tortoise!!! I tried to buy my grandson a pet turtle for his birthday and found out you can't buy them anymore...not little ones anyway. They had the large tortoises, but didn't think that would work for him...not yet anyway. He's lucky to have such a thoughtful and caring friend as you. Is he litter trained or what? It is just so interesting.

Your Dozer and Daisy are just precious together. It's truly amazing how different species can bond and share space and it's wonderful to hear of your strong attachment to your pets. We have 2 cats and a dog and we too have made arrangements in our Revocable Trust for them just in case something should happen to both me and my hubby.

That's too funny! An armadillo? I noticed the turtle immediately but then thought "Is that a rabbit next to that turtle??"
It looks like Dozer walked himself into a corner, gave up, and fell asleep. Cute!
