i like to use a small tabletop ironing board...it is sturdier than the newer ironing boards...i always keep spray starch handy as well...do you have a favorite iron?

I just bought a Rowenta iron from Sam's a couple of months ago. So far it's working out fine.

I have the usual ironing board set up but I put a folding wood tv table tray next to my sewing machine and the June Taylor pressing mat fits the tray perfectly. I have a small travel iron that I use to press my seams as as sew.

I love my 'big board' - it's a rectangle 59" x 22" - perfect for pressing a 45" width of fabric. I keep my board away from my sewing machine so that I HAVE to get up to press. I get too stiff if I don't move often. My iron is a Rowenta Powerglide 2. Not as heavy as the Professional, but suits me fine.

I have a tabletop ironing set up to the right of my machine so I can swivel my chair and press seams ets. I have two Rowenta irons, different models, which were gifts from two of my children. The iron I use from pressing seams is a G>E> travel Iron,n I have had this one for years and is my favorite. I have a big board for irong material and for this I use a Rowenta......

Yesterday I did a little changing so have to edit this.
Instead of the small folding table that I had the ironing board sitting on I put the bin that contains my UFO's in place of the table.
It is about the samer height as the small table and makes the UFO's mor accessible. One of my priorities this year is to finish as many as possible.....Kay

I iron on half my 4 X 6 cutting table that I built my self, but I'm still having trouble finding an iron that doesn't spit or shut itself off unexpectedly. sigh

I use a regular ironing board for regular size stuff and one I made for small stuff. I bought a cutting board (wooden) at the thrift store, put a layer of batting on it and covered it with a very sturdy, almost canvas-like fabric. I use that to press seams and press blocks. Very handy. I think I finally found an iron I really like that doesn't aggravate the tar out of me. It's a Black and Decker Classic. Gets good and hot and has a minimum amount of sputter with the steam.
