My dh hung a board to hang the quilts on and we put lots of nails in them, then my mil bought some big clips with holes in them so I could hang them on the nails (she found them at the dollar store). This is my yard we have a pond next to the house. We have 22 acres with lots of woods. I love my yard too. Thanks for the compliments. I really enjoy hanging the quilts and taking photos. I just have to watch the sunlite sometimes it hard to get a photo if the sun isn't just right. I finished the quilt on Sat. morning and I was worried about the sun but it worked out fine. I wanted to get it in the mail I was going out of town on Sunday. Bev

Would any of you ladies like to share the story behind this lovely quilt so that those of us who admire it can know what you are all talking about? Was this a special occassion where you made this for GP that the rest of us aren't aware of?

It is a very pretty quilt!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CP, it's mostly - I'm not sure what you would call it - it's a. . . gift of love. . . a non-random act of kindness....

Earlier this fall, Peachie was feeling stressed out, and had a lot of things going on in her life, with her father's health, etc. A bunch of us - well, I guess you know who, did 2 blocks each (or something like that), sent it to one member who pieced the top, and on to Nadine, who so graciously quilted it....

Personally, I am hoping that we can do more of these projects for each other. . . . I can think of two or three members right now who are facing challenges in their lives, and I would love to be able to hug them and tell them how much they mean to me, but words are not enough.

So - what does a quilter do when faced with this situation - she quilts!

THAT is where this came from. This is only my opinion and my perspective! Does anyone else want to join in??

(P.S. See Susanna's post in Projects from the Heart - hearts for El, I think will be the next project, unofficially (since this group doesn't have an 'official' name!))

CindyB I think that summs it up very well! and it was fun to partisipate in making these blocks [thank goodness they didn't pick a mariners compass block.....whew! I would have been sweatin' bullets!]

Tiggersmom, ROFLOL! about the mariner's compass comment! CindyB, I think your idea is wonderful. I can assure you, a quilt from your friends lifts your spirits and touches your heart in ways I can't even describe. To quote some anonymous and wise person (tee-hee!)....Quilts make the best gifts! I've never met anyone who didn't love a quilt! I know I never met a quilt I didn't love! And you just can't have too many quilts or too much cotton fabric!" ROFLOL! I should post this warning to everyone: be cautious about what you post because you just never know when and where you might be quoted! LOL! I think we all need a special quilt from our friends, I would love for all ya'll to feel what I feel when I hug and wrap up in the one you made for me! There's NOTHING like that feeling in the whole world...it's glorious!

<pauses to think before she types>

Probably the toughest part of the project would be finding out when we/they need the quilts, but I've added a few more names to my list!

GP, the quilt is beautiful and I give the thumbs up to the girls for their beautiful job on it. If you have any worries , just cuddle up in your "loved by your friends quilt" and all problems will float away .
