I used variegated silky (?) threads for the edging.....zig-zag around the larger blocks & satin stitching for the inner parts of it. It took awhile, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Maryellen, your block is beautiful. I love the varigated thread, it gives it such a nice finish and shine. I recognize the pattern too, Baltimore Blues BOM, you did a great job.
