CHARM Storage

Post by QuiltingLioness » Mon Nov 05, 2007 9:13 am

I'm wondering if anyone has creative ways to store charms?
Would love to be able to view them without taking every single charm out.

Loved the article on "Managing Your Fabric Stash" - I just need your creative ideas on charms storage.

Thanks, all!

I wonder if you could put them in photo albums or the protectors that you use for baseball cards.

I agree with Lee. Photo protectors would be great--2 in a sleeve.

I bought acrylic shoe boxes. I place them I guess you could say standing up...like a deck of cards on its side. I make sure the folds are up and the sections are on the down size...hope you can understand...hard to put into words. I store them by color...I can flip through them or take a section out.

I like this because they stay clean, folded and organized...just do not overstuff the boxes. I keep all the "seasonal" charms in a seperate box--and mark it seasonal...then I have little tabs, Christmas etc.

So far this has worked best for me.

So you fold the charms in half? Post a picture fo your storage box if you get a chance. I'd like to start a system too. Right now I have them stacked together in a ziplock. All the charms from one swap go in a ziplock together.

I had taken two charm DVD'S with me to Denver, in their cases. Well, little Sean, who will be 3 in Feb., had a wonderful time playing with them. He is our 2# wonder and his brother, Alec, who was 11 on Mon., was our 3# wonder. We are blessed indeed. No health problems.

I am just starting to buy charms, so will need a place to store them. Goos ideas gals! Thanks!

OK, I will take a picture, and try to figure how to put it into the message.

You fold them into little packages...actially, I think I put them into the box as I purchase them...??? I will look tonight.

One of the quilt stores I go to gives away a fat quater each first Sat of the month...so I have nice little stash.

I bought a big wire circle hanger. I hung alligator clips from the circle and then grouped charms by color on the alligator clips. It doesn't take up much room at all and I can carry the whole collection easy. jSome of my prettier charm packs, I leave intack and have sitting around my sewing room for decor.
