I forgot to mention your beautiful quilt!!! I wish I was the Texas friend who is getting it!! I think you are growing another quilter - that's wonderful! I'm the older sister and my sister grew taller than me during our childhood. It's aggravating to me. I'm 5'1" and she's 1/4" shy of 5'6". NOT FAIR!!!

The girls are so adorable. They sure look proud of those cute purses. Will show my DGD and see if she wants to try to make one. We could use her jeans for a purse or mine for a duffle bag. I really like th blue & white quilt too. My fav colors for a quilt.
Good job sewing and Mothering!!

Oasis, and others who might be interested...here are the websites I looked at when I needed help with the jeans purses.
www.aokcorral.com
www.craftbits.com
I found them by googling the phrase "make tote bag from jeans"; there are plenty of sites to check out. I am thinking of swiping a pair of Bob's big ol' drawers to make a nice big bag for myself...they are so unique and just plain ol' fun!

I loved your beautiful blue quilt! The star in a star is an attractive pattern...especially in your blues! And your granddaughters look like a fun pair! I'm sure they really enjoy their grandmother (especially when she takes time out of her busy schedule to show them how to sew)!

Thanks, Marcia, but...<um, cough, cough> they're my daughters, not my grands. Although, at 46, I am nearly old enough to be their grandma, and I have met 30 year-old grandmothers...nothing new there! lol

Re: Recent Project Pics
Sewglad, it's the North Star block from QIAD's Underground Railroad book. I made 12 of the 12" blocks from blue scraps from my stash, used the same background fabric throughout. No sashing between the blocks, but I put 3 borders on: the first of the background fabric, then a medium blue print, then the dark blue stars. Jeff is a big guy, so I wanted it to be a larger-than-usual lap size.
I love the double stars; those geese were a good amount of work, but I was pleased with the results.
