Fairy Frost!!

Post by CindyB » Wed Sep 05, 2007 8:56 am

Ok, I've heard about Fairy Frost - even had some on this forum rave about it....

I must say.....

Now I know why!!!!!

I picked some up in SD and am going to make my DD a huge Christmas Stocking out of it! LOL!!! I couldn't decide what color, so I got about 6 fat quarters and am going to make the large striped stocking!

Isn't it beautiful?? I have about 6 FQ but my sis-in-law has a lot of it and is very creative in using it. She's a lot braver than I am, LOL.

cindy I am so happy that you have discovered the same wonderful fairy frost that I am in love with - I cant even pick a shade or a color - I thought I was an adict but have a friend recently who on a fart (fabric acquistion road trip) bought 2 yard each of 25 different colors and shade I didnt even know they came in that many colors
Enjoy your fairy frost happy to have another adict to the fold ha ha

I love Fairy Frost. Our local quilt store has had a 25% off for about 2 weeks. I got greedy and bought materials for a Christmas Quilt for the home. I am making a sampler with the different ones I picked out. They are just wonderful. I just love to "touch" them.
I have never had them shrink. I tried a fq and measured it before and after. So, this is one material that I never wash. Enjoy the wonderful materials that are made for us today.

What is Fairy Frost like? Is it cotton material? It sounds fancy! Where can you buy this fabric and what kind of things do you all make with it?

gardenquilter - I am going to have to remember "FART". That was funny!! I will have to do that one day!

debbie510, FF is like a regular cotton fabric but with a sheen or glimmer to it. It's like when you go outside in the morning in the Fall after a freeze and the frost is over the grass. It comes in all different colors from pastels to jewel tones and it's just yummy! You can do anthig with it that you would do with regular fabric. This is what I've done with mine so far:

I plan to make another star quilt for my DD for her grad quilt. I'll also use the new Pyrite for the tail of a shooting star.

Leetec, can you make that picture larger? I love the quilt. What is made with FF, the stars?? I hope I find lots of FF at the Houston quilt show. I'm saving my money. LOL

I didn't know what Fairy Frost Fabric was either when I first heard about it here. Keepsake Quilting has a new collection of it at their website:

http://www.keepsakequilting.com/product ... ctions.htm

Also you can put #3476 or #3482 in the search box and get 1/2 yard pieces or 10" squares.

Have Fun,

Hopefully these will be better pictures of the Celestrial Stars quilt. The stars and the "borders" around them are FFs. The pictures don't do them justice but at least you get an idea of what they look like.
