Thanks, I sure appreciate all the wonderful comments. I was thinking that is an awful lot of orange!

Thank you all for the pictures. I finally did a practice block to get the feel for fabrics. I think it turned out well. Now on to the fabric. I am doing a shop hop this week & will concentrate on this fabric & of course some attachments & notions for the machine!

Re: Fall Block Swap - Closed
Now I'm really intimidated.
Well,I bought new fabric, after my SIL fell in love with the first blocks I made. But when I laid out the block it didn't look like I wanted so I started playing with it, moving the HSTs around, and came up with a pattern I liked. I have no idea if it has a name, but it would make a great medallion quilt. It sort of reflects me, getting in over my head, not always knowing where I'm going, but enjoying the ride. LOL

I'll show mine. It's the one on the right. (The one on the left is my Thimbleberries lotto block.) I chose the Cyclone block, the freebie from this website, and use fabric the color of the leaves here in the fall.

Evie, can you take a mo' to explain to this doofus how you made the cyclone block bigger? If you could just send the unfinished center block size and the size of the geese you used...I could take it from there. I love the cyclone block, have been wanting to figure out how to make it larger...but sitting down with graph paper and pencil doesn't rank on my Top Ten, KWIM?
Thanks for the help!
