Fall Block Swap - Closed

Post by CindyB » Thu Aug 02, 2007 2:56 pm

I'd like to officially open the Fall Block Swap up!!!

Guidelines:

- 12-1/2" unfinished blocks
- Fall colors
- Do not square up your blocks
- Blocks are all the same - you choose a block that represents yourself or where you live

***DON'T FORGET TO ADD A SELF ADDRESSED ENVELOPE TO SEND THE BLOCKS BACK TO YOU***

The more the merrier on this one - everyone will make 20 blocks, and receive 20 back!

Cut off date??? How about closing the swap when we get 20 or so, or August 31?? I'd like to keep it to a maximum of 25 - I'm with everyone who's posted so far - I don't want to make 50 blocks, but am ok with 20 or so!!!

Swap date - Mail blocks to me by October 31 - of course this date is flexible!!!

I'll PM people with my addy when the date gets closer!

Example: I grew up in Vermont, live in Iowa, I could go to Quilter's Cache and pick:
Vermont Block
Iowa Block
Maple Leaf block (maple syrup from Vermont)
Corn and Beans block (Iowa grows the most corn!)

Or another block that fits me or where I have lived!

Any takers out there???

Just think what fun this could be.....

Okay, Cindy, you talked me into it. (It was a hard job, wasn't it?) Any idea of the deadline yet? I found the Wisconsin block and think I'll do it (of course, it will be in the colors of the state....Green and Gold). That's ok...they're both fall colors and will work.

I'd love to do this but let me see how much of the autograph exchange #2, my bullseye exchange, my holiday RR and 5" charms I can get done while I'm in OH. If I can get those done I'll seriously look into doing this one, too. What are you thinking about for a deadline? And do you have a cut-off number in mind or just whoever signs up by a certain date? :)

I would love to join but I have too much going on right now. Maybe next time. Round Robin, Autograph block swap, fabric stash exchange. Thanks anyway. Bev

I would love to join this one, as long as there are not too many blocks to make...I get lazy after a while :o) I think this would be a great swap, I love fall colors and of course, I would have to find a block for me. Let's see....Hmmm... I live in Kentucky so I'm sure there are KY blocks out there, but I live on a farm and love our animals, but the horses are my favorites, they are my babies...maybe something like that.

Yes, I am in! As long as I don't have to make 40 or 50 :o)

Do I understand that we make our onw block, probably the number would be determined by how many quilters sign up. So if 20 sign up I would be making 20 Tn. blocks. Is that close to right?

Sounds easier than making 20 differnt blocks.

What are you thinking of for a deadline and probably a dumb question, but what do you mean by..."do not square up your blocks"?
Also, are we to use a special type of fabric (QIAD) or just good quality fabric?

Sorry, newbie....lots of questions. LOL
