laser light short out

Post by gardenquilter » Wed Jul 25, 2007 5:40 am

I had to have my machine serviced after moving the laser light from the front to the back multiple times back in the winter seems like I caused a static electricity arc - many of the machines out there have up fits to aleviate this
has any one else had this issue

I have not had that problem - but I have removed my laser light because I prefer not to use it

I've never moved my laser light. I only use it if I'm using a panto and I can only lay down my panto on the back of my frame so I don't move the lazer from back to front.

So far no problem with my laser light. One time when I moved it back to the back after using it on the front, I didn't screw it on quite tight enough and my niece was quilting. Good thing I took a look at her work because the light was making her go all catty whampus on the panto. She had only done about 1/4th of a row thank goodness.

I move my light to the front if I want to copy a stencil in a block. I lay the stencil on a little shelf that goes on my bars and line up the light on the quilt and stencil and just copy away. It works pretty good.

I haven't had any problems with the laser light and I move it often.

No problems with my laser light. I do move it quite a bit from up to down and twisting around to get just the right angle for the panto I am working on.
