Fabric kits without instructions?

I prefer no instructions. If I need to buy the pattern/book, just let me know when I buy the kit. I have two kits at home that have patterns in them that are duplicates of patterns I already have. I didn't realize the patterns were in the kits when I bought them. It would have saved me money had the pattern not been inside.

After reading all the comments about kits, I have to add my two cents. Quilt in a Day is first and foremost a publishing company. Eleanor writes books. She started selling kits because customers fell in love with her quilts that were shown in the books. They wanted to make the exact quilt they saw. She began offering the "fabric kits" to accomodate what the customers wanted. Many customers buy more than one kit from the same book. And since her designs come in a book, it wouldn't make sense for them to have to pay for the book over and over. Most customers purchase the book first, and then go back to QIAD to purchase a kit.

LynnS, check with you local library and see if they will hold a book for you. Our local library has a waiting list for popular books, it saves on gas going to the library hoping a certain book will be there. Ours will hold a book for a week after notifying us that it is on the hold shelf.
