CHARMING ROSE GARDEN - PEELED BACK

Post by INKA » Thu Jul 12, 2007 10:24 pm

GARDENQUILTER and OASIS:
there is a book on this lovely technique how to make "false" curves easily:

Peeled Back Patchwork
By Annette Ornelas

Add curves to your quilts the easy way. Just simple straight seams. Insert folded pieces between the seams and peel the folds back. Dimensional effects and secondary patterns are a bonus as you learn to make complex-looking designs with these easy methods.
Twelve quilt patterns.

I took her class at the Nashville AQS show 2 years ago. It was a great class! We did the Desert Cactus Flower, it turned out perfect. I used all hand dyeds. I bought her book that day, but it fell apart, wasn't glued in the center. I hope she comes back to Nashville next year, she's not on the schedule for this year. I would take another class with her. The Mexican Star I posted on the pictures thread is done with this technique. Here is a great website for the gal who created the pattern I used for that:
