The saddest part of all is that some folks have no idea of what they have! My aunt sent an old quilt to my dad several years before he died. When he looked at it, it was a top that he had started when he was about 10 years old. In their family, if you wanted it, you had better learn how to do it - want to keep warm - make a quilt.

SusieQ51 you are so right. I want to buy every old quilt I see worn or not just to keep it cherished and safe. I also get sad when I see old family photos at flea markets you know thats a loved one a family member should have those photos, and quilts. But if a quilt is unwanted and I come across and am able to aquire it I will love it forever.

That is a beautiful quilt and you are a good person to care for it!
I am one of those people who also gets sad when I see family photos in antique stores and such. I wonder if the whole family is gone or if the family that was left just didn't care. I treasure all my old family stuff. I hope my grandkids will do the same.
